Why I built KinLine
My parents live in India, and I talk to them every day. One day a hospital called me. My dad had a heart attack, and the nurse asked what medicines he takes. I didn't know. Something that simple, and I didn't have it. Most of us think we'll sort these things out when we need them. But when that moment comes, there's no time. He's fine now, but I never want another family to feel that helpless.
Like most families, we kept everything in notes, emails, photos and chats. When you need one thing, you have to search through all of them. I wanted one place for everything: my parents' medicines, my kids' shot records, our passports. But the apps I found wanted an account and kept your family's records on their servers. I didn't want that.
So I built KinLine, and I designed it around people. You start by adding a person: Mom, Dad, your kids, or you. Each one gets their own page, with a place ready for everything you'll need: doctor visits, insurance, IDs, appointments, documents, and emergency info like medicines and allergies. It's easy to add things, and easy to find them: when someone asks, they're two taps away. No sign‑up, saved on your phone, and nobody else can see it, not even us.
When the doctor asks, I hope you'll know.
